Yet another normal tire
It was late summer and we couldn’t find my favorite Yoko Advan anywhere. My friend at tire service told me “Only you buy those special tires. Normal people buy cheap crap.”
It broke my hearth and caught me unprepared…I could buy it in Austria…well, I decided to try something new. This year (2019) was rainy in European Alps and I wanted to check out some “intermediate/wet” tire.
Lots of radial slots should be fun in water. Great wet grip but it cannot beat Nokian WR D4 but better than Yoko Advan. Dry roads are also not problem but it is normal tire without any sidewall reinforcements.
Excessive vibrations and noise surprised me at speeds over 140km/h. I thought my ball joints are worn again due my rally suspension. We balanced out all tires twice. Speeds up to 130km/h without problem…German Autobahns over 140km/h again excessive vibrations in steering wheel.
I asked my tire service friend what the fuck is going on and he said “It is normal in some cheap shit tires. They simply do not hold shape despite unloaded balancing shows no runout issues.“
