After fiasco caused by poor remap from tExperts and my experiments. I started all over again and again. Defucking decalibrated ECU of Hilda HR I. This is history of version 4 series of ECU remap.
SUMMARY
- possible causes of turbocharge damage were surging and excessive EGT over 800°C (factory limiter is up to 780°C at high revs)
- whole injection timing is screwed up
- EGT successfully reduced at full load (max. 800°C for short bursts)
- intensively studying Bosch EDC16U34 manuals
- seeking a procedure how to measure final IQ
- discovering close-loop control of EDC16
- experimenting with FMA
- first pure HR version (v4.12) with everything calculated from sratch
Changes
- working on dynamic EGR that will shut off once engine is properly warmed-up
- injection timing to default and start again
- attempt to increase FMA min. value (v4.10)
- increased torque @ 2000rpm by +5%
- increased boost because AFR is not precise
- corrected boost/IAT compensation (v4.10)
- missing parallel maps changes – dynamic EGR finally works (v4.12)
Vision
- I keep seeing max. 2601mbar MAP in diagnostic despite larger values used
- boost is still somewhere limited, most likely temperature compensation
- correctly measure injection events and precise AFR control
- dynamic EGR for quicker warm up of engine, otherwise EGR does more damage than help
[…] the more I see how commercial chiptuning fucks up dumb customers. Of course it is evolution of version 4 series with improved knowledge and more precise calculations. This is history of version 5 series […]
