I finally got rear brakes running right as mentioned in my last test. After heavy overheating of OEM brakes, they’ve got distorted but finally braked. Time to get an upgrade.
It may seem that you don’t need rear brakes and most cars have rusted rear brakes because common drivers are scared to brake properly. Without rear brakes, front ones get easily overheated as seen in my first Ferodo brake pads test.
Ever since rear brakes work properly now – I didn’t manage to overheat front brakes with Ferodo DS2500 pads but OEM rear brakes are not match for racing brake pads. Front brakes have optimal braking temp around 400-500°C but rear brakes are glowing red and fade.
I got rid of dust cover – it is useless and acts as thermal shield. It looks neat and sexy now.
Initially, I wanted Brembo Sport discs and Ferodo DS2500 but my friend couldn’t get them and found something what looks like Brembo Sport. Furthermore, I was asked to test new Garett/Jurid White brake pads.
Garett is known for turbochargers and I don’t like companies that do everything and nothing right. Since, it all cost nothing and I promised to test it.
There is nothing about Jurid White brake pads – no datasheet and I wonder about heat capacity. Garrett is proud for their friction materials used on high-speed trains TGV.
Main marketing point of Jurid white is “silence and no dust“. No metal particles and ceramic based compound. We will see, I already had ATE Powerdisc with their “ceramic” pads.
