During my first brake system test, I wasn’t aware of jammed rear brakes. It is easy to overheat front brakes, on front engine cars, especially with faulty rear brakes.
Who drives in mountains know my problems well. It is very easy to lose brakes in mountains. OEM brake pads start to fade very quickly. OEM pads are useless once brake system temperature reaches 300 deg C.
My usual temperature on front brakes is 500-700 deg C. Rear brakes surprisingly catch up over 300 deg C.
Ferodo Premier rear brake pads (order code FDB1636) started to fade around 400-500 deg C. Glowing disc were around 700 deg C and that is too much for those pads.
But hey, they cost 35€ compared to 300€ for DS2500.
